Beautifully restored ex-monastery with breathtaking views and a private swimming pool.
Location and Surrounding Area. Property 10624 is situated in arguably one of the most beautiful locations along the Sorrento peninsula. The hamlet of Termini is like the village that time forgot; still steeped in tradition and old-fashioned farming techniques yet only a ten minute drive from Nerano and Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi and less than half an hour from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento and Positano. You can almost reach out and touch the islands of Capri and Ischia as you take in the magnificent views from the terraces. The peace and quiet of the stunning scenery, dotted with citrus and olive groves, is guaranteed to recharge your batteries with a long-lasting sense of well-being.
Among the countless enchanting places to visit in the area, perhaps Ravello, Positano and Amalfi stand out for the first time visitor. Ravello, at 350 metres above sea level, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers both unforgettable architecture and scenic beauty. The 11th century Cathedral and Villa Cimbrone are magnificent and a summer music festival is held each in the year in the gardens of the 13th century Villa Rufolo. D.H. Lawrence wrote Lady Chatterley's Lover here and the town has been frequented over the years by the likes of Greta Garbo and Winston Churchill.
The delights of Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi have inspired artists, writers and lovers for centuries. The higgledy-piggledy, white-washed houses clustered up and down the winding steps and sophisticated shops and restaurants all combine to create an exceptionally chic atmosphere.
Naples international airport is only 65 km away, the island of Capri is half an hour by boat from Sorrento and the world famous archaeological site of Pompeii is 40 km away. Positano is less than 30 km away along the breathtaking drive of the celebrated Amalfi Coast road, Amalfi is situated a little further on at 40 km and Ravello is 10 km up the hill from Amalfi.
Property 10624 is an ideal holiday home for a couple of families or group of friends wanting their own, independent quarters yet with the luxury of optional, shared living spaces.
The Property. This lovely old monastery has been elegantly renovated and refurbished in superb style. The original structure of the refectory and 14th century chapel has been maintained while the terracotta flooring, stucco designs, gildings and paintings have all been lovingly renovated by artists who have managed to recreate the feel of the ancient property but with all the comforts of modern conveniences. The bathrooms are tiled with the world-famous Vietri sul Mare ceramic and the silk curtains and furnishings are from the prestigious San Leucio silk mills. This attention to detail and the quality craftsmanship of the restoration has resulted in a truly superior villa.
The large swimming pool is carefully designed to create an area of immense beauty. The asymmetrical shape blends in perfectly with the far-reaching views and the poolside area is furnished with sun loungers, umbrellas and an outside shower. The floodlit space is absolutely magical at night with the lights twinkling on the water. The surrounding lawns and gardens also contain an organic, vegetable garden and plenty of fruit trees for fresh, summer snacks.
