Property 48 - PRAIANO

8 Bedrooms

Location and Surrounding Area
Located in Praiano, halfway between Positano and Amalfi, this exclusive eight-bedroom villa is the perfect place for a stylish break on one of the most celebrated stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. Its highly desirable and secluded position, set above the stunning coastline and surrounded by large terraces planted with palm, orange, and lemon trees, as well as Mediterranean flowers, makes this elegant villa an exclusive oasis of privacy and peace.

Despite its mountainside setting, Praiano has always maintained a strong connection with the sea. Its ancient name likely derives from the Latin for “open sea,” as the town sits on a cape along the Amalfi Coast. The town has long been known for fishing, including the production of nets and later, coral fishing. Evidence of this fishing tradition can be seen at Marina di Praia beach, often covered with small wooden boats and heaps of fishing cages and nets.

The villa is just a few kilometres from Positano. The sight of Positano from a distance is breathtaking: charming pastel-toned houses scattered across a spectacular strip of coastline, stunning blue seascapes, and narrow alleyways adorned with wisteria and lemon trees. From Positano, all the other treasures of the Amalfi Coast are just a short and incredibly scenic car or boat ride away. Seaside holiday enthusiasts must visit the parasol-dotted Spiaggia Grande, a stunning beach located at the base of the town’s tumbling terraces.

The town of Amalfi is best known for its sun-filled piazzas and oversized 9th-century cathedral. With a seemingly maze-like array of streets and staircases, Amalfi is pretty but petite. Though there is a small beach, it is genuinely walkable in about 20 minutes. While Piazza Duomo and the main street host most of the town’s shops and restaurants, do spend some time wandering and exploring the quieter side streets, where you will find arched passageways, hidden gardens, and tiny piazzas.

Glamorous Ravello is built higher up in the hills. It boasts cultured villas and a lovely main piazza, with numerous little cafés for al fresco dining. Ravello is famous for its ravishing gardens and stupendous views, considered the best in the world according to former resident Gore Vidal. Villa Rufolo is the setting for the town’s renowned summer music festival, while Villa Cimbrone’s tiered garden is best known for its sculptures and gorgeous pergolas.

Property 48 is 55 km from Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport, 68 km from Naples Capodichino International Airport, and 294 km from Rome Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. The very centre of Praiano is less than 1.5 km from the villa, Conca dei Marini is 6 km away, Positano is 7 km, Amalfi is 10 km, Minori is 14 km, Maiori is 16 km, Ravello is 16 km, Sorrento is 21 km, Nerano is 28 km, Vietri sul Mare is 32 km, Pompeii is 41 km, Herculaneum is 56 km, and Naples is 63 km away.

The Property
Located in Praiano and overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Property 48 boasts sophisticated design, providing a perfect hideaway in one of the most celebrated destinations on the Amalfi Coast. Surrounded by an infinite blue sky and azure sea, the spectacular setting of the villa ensures superb panoramas. Spread over multiple floors (one of which is not accessible to guests) and with a furnished terrace overlooking the sea, Property 48 can accommodate 16 guests in eight double bedrooms.

Immersed in a lush Mediterranean garden, the villa features a large terrace lined with white columns, an exceptional pool (heated on request, at an extra cost) with sea views, and a poolside area with comfortable sun loungers. Spread over multiple levels, the outdoor area provides the perfect setting for dinners and stargazing. Unparalleled views of the sea can be enjoyed from the delightful al fresco lounge and dining area on the shaded patio. The main-level terrace also includes a pizza oven and a barbecue.

Three large French doors lead inside to the villa's bright living and dining area. The enchanting living room, with traditional arches, features comfortable sofas with plenty of seating, antique furniture, a fireplace, and a television. Flooded with light, the formal dining room is adorned with a Roman amphora and boasts a large glass-topped table alongside fragments of original Roman columns. The fully equipped kitchen, which also leads out onto the terrace, features a small breakfast table and decorative Italian tiles.

A pathway of steps just 150 metres from the villa leads you down to Praia beach near the Saracen tower of Praiano. The villa entrance is only a few steps off the main road. The interior of the villa is also accessed from a beautiful white staircase. A 20-step staircase leads to the lower floor. A long hallway connects six double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms with showers and French doors opening onto the terrace. A 25-step staircase leads to the villa’s tower, which boasts two double bedrooms sharing a bathroom with a shower.
